Ingredients

  • 2 lbs fresh strawberries , rinsed and hulled
  • 6 cups filtered water
  • ½ cup sugar , adjust to taste
  • Juice from 2 lemons or limes

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Start by washing the fresh strawberries thoroughly under cold running water. Remove the stems and any unwanted parts. Cut the fresh lemon in half, and you can juice it using a juicer or manually by pressing it against a citrus squeezer to extract the lemon juice.
  2. Next, place the washed and prepared strawberries into a blender or food processor. Add sugar and freshly squeezed lemon juice to the blender, along with 2 cups of water. Blend the strawberries and lemon juice together until you get a smooth and well-combined mixture, about 2 minutes.
  3. Pour the strawberry juice into a large pitcher and stir in the remaining water.  Taste the juice and adjust the sweetness with more sugar if you'd like it sweeter. Stir the mixture thoroughly to ensure the water is well incorporated into the strawberry puree. Serve the refreshing and revitalizing fresh strawberry juice with ice.
  4. Note: In this recipe, we don't strain the fresh strawberry juice. But if you prefer a smoother texture, you can strain the juice through a fine-mesh strainer after blending the strawberries. Straining removes any seeds or pulp, making the juice smoother. It's up to you if you want to strain it or not. Either way, the juice will be delicious!

Notes

  • How to store:
  • To store strawberry juice, refrigerate any leftover juice in a clean, airtight container, such as a glass jar or pitcher. Keep the container tightly sealed to prevent any contaminants from entering. Consume the strawberry juice within 2 to 3 days for the best taste and quality. Before serving any stored juice, shake it well to mix any settled pulp.
  • How to Make-Ahead
  • To make strawberry juice ahead of time, follow the recipe as stated. After preparing the juice, transfer it to an airtight container and refrigerate. It can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 to 3 days. However, please note that strawberry juice is best served right away to enjoy its vibrant flavors and freshness. If you decide to make it ahead of time, just give the container a good shake before serving to ensure the juice is well mixed.
  • How to Freeze
  • To freeze strawberry juice, pour it into freezer-safe containers, leaving some space for expansion. Seal the containers tightly, label them with the contents and date, and place them in the freezer. Use the frozen juice within 2-3 months. Thaw the juice in the refrigerator or at room temperature before serving, and give it a gentle stir after thawing.
