Ingredients

  • 1/2 1/2 cup steel-cut or old-fashioned oats
  • 2 2 cups milk almond, cashew, coconut, whole, skim, or rice
  • 2 2 cups halved strawberries
  • 2 2 tablespoons water if needed

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Pour oats and milk into a container with a tight fitting lid. Stir well and seal the jar tightly. Store in the refrigerator overnight. To serve, remove lid and top with strawberries.

Notes

  • Add strawberries and water to skillet over medium heat to bring out the sweetness of the strawberries. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the strawberries have just softened, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and serve over top of the oats. In place of the milk, you may use 2 cups of water with the oats. If you'd like to soften your oats even more for overnight, bring the 2 cups of water to a boil before pouring over the oats. Allow to sit for about 10 minutes, then stir, cover, and store overnight.
