Strawberry Pie with Jello

Ingredients

  • 9 inch pie shell
  • 4 cups strawberries washed and hulled
  • 1 ½ cups water
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons cornstarch
  • 3 ounces package strawberry Jell-O

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Bake pie shell according to package directions. Cool.
  2. Place washed and hulled strawberries in cool pie shell.
  3. Combine water, sugar and cornstarch in a saucepan. Bring to boil and cook two minutes. Add strawberry Jell-O and stir until dissolved. Slowly pour over berries.
  4. Chill in refrigerator until set. Store, covered, in refrigerator until serving.

Notes

  • Cover leftovers of this easy strawberry pie recipe with plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator. If you are making it ahead of time store, covered, in the refrigerator until it is time to serve. It will store well for about five days.
  • You can also prepare this pie ahead of time and freeze it! Just wrap it well with tinfoil or plastic wrap and pop it in the freezer. Well sealed, a strawberry pie will keep up to two months in the freezer. Just beware the juices will be a bit runnier if you freeze it and then thaw to enjoy.
