Strawberry Pretzel Salad

Ingredients

Crust:
  • 2 cups pretzels , crushed
  • 3/4 cup butter melted, unsalted
  • 1/4 cup sugar
Strawberry Jello Layer:
  • 8 ounces cream cheese , softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 8 ounces Cool Whip
  • 6 ounces strawberry flavored gelatin
  • 2 cups water boiling
  • 4 cups strawberries , sliced

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees and spray a 9x13 baking dish with baking spray.
  2. Mix the pretzels, butter, and sugar and spread evenly in the baking dish.
  3. Bake for 8-10 minutes then cool.
  4. In a large mixing bowl whisk together cream cheese and sugar.
  5. Stir in Cool Whip until well blended.
  6. Spread cream cheese mixture over the pretzels (make sure you don't leave ANY gaps on the side of the baking pan or jello will seep into the crust and ruin it).
  7. Cover and freeze for 1 hour.
  8. Whisk jello into boiling water until completely dissolved.
  9. Add strawberries to jello mixture and let sit for 10 minutes to cool.
  10. Pour over the cooled baking dish.
  11. Refrigerate for 4 hours or until completely set before slicing.
