Ingredients

Street Tacos:
  • 3 chicken breast boneless and skinless
  • 1 yellow onion , diced
  • 2 cloves garlic , minced
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon cumin ground
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon oregano dried
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
Tacos:
  • 24 corn tortillas street taco sized, small
  • 1 yellow onion , finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup cilantro , chopped
  • 2 lime cut into thin wedges

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken breasts with chili powder, cumin, paprika, oregano, black pepper and chili powder, turning to coat.
  2. Add the chicken to a large heavy skillet on high heat with 2 tablespoons of oil.
  3. Cook the chicken for 5-6 minutes on each side.
  4. Remove the chicken and allow it to rest before chopping it into small pieces.
  5. While the chicken is resting, add the onions in a large skillet with the remaining 2 tablespoons of oil until they are translucent over medium high heat.
  6. Add the garlic and cook until just fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  7. Increase to high heat and add the chopped chicken back to the pan to crisp up the edges.
  8. Add 2 tablespoons of cooked chicken to two layered warmed corn tortillas.
  9. Top with onions and cilantro and serve with lime wedges.
