Sugared Cranberries

Cranberries are great for eating OR decorating. These sugared cranberries are super easy and a perfect holiday garnish.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup water
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 cup cranberries
  • ¼ cup sugar for coating

Instructions

  1. To make simple syrup, combine water and ½ cup of sugar in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring until sugar is dissolved.
  2. Pour the simple syrup into a bowl, then add the cranberries. Cover and refrigerate for 1-8 hours.
  3. Place the ¼ cup sugar in a bowl.
  4. Drain the cranberries well (you can save the syrup if you like). When damp but not dripping, coat the berries with sugar, a few at a time.
  5. Remove and place on waxed paper or parchment to dry, about an hour.
