Summer Mix Salad

Enjoy a zesty mix salad featuring red onions for crunch and flavor, cool cucumbers, juicy tomatoes, and a hint of spice with black pepper, cumin powder, and optional green chilies for added kick.

Ingredients

  • 1 red onion medium-sized
  • 1 cucumber
  • 1 tomato medium-sized
  • 2 tablespoon Coriander leaves
  • 1 green chili optional
  • ½ lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon Zeera or cumin powder
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt or to taste

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry all the vegetables.
  2. Chop all the vegetables into cubes. Try to keep them equal sized.
  3. Add all the vegetables to a large mixing bowl.
  4. Add the lemon juice, black pepper powder, and zeera or cumin powder.
  5. Mix well, and chill before serving.

Notes

  • You can make this salad ahead of time by chopping all the vegetables except the onions. Store them in an air-tight container, and before serving, add the onions and spices.
  • You can add other vegetables that you like, such as carrots, broccoli, cabbage and lettuce.
  • You can also add nuts and seeds like peanuts, almonds, flaxseed, or pumpkin seeds.
