Super Bowl Chocolate Covered Pretzel Brownies

Homemade chocolate brownies topped with chocolate frosting, M & M's, and chocolate covered pretzels.

Ingredients

Brownie Layer:
  • 1/2 cup butter softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup cake flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chunks or Chips
Chocolate Frosting:
  • 4 Tablespoons butter softened
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons heavy cream or milk
Toppings:
  • 1 cup chocolate covered pretzels
  • 1 cup M & M's

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In large mixing bowl, cream together butter, sugar, and brown sugar for 3-4 minutes or until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Add vanilla.
  3. Stir in flour, cake flour, cocoa, and salt until mixed together.
  4. Fold in chocolate chips.
  5. Pour into 8 x 8 pan and spread evenly.
  6. Bake for 18-24 minutes.
  7. Let cool.
  8. To make frosting:
  9. Cream butter until light and fluffy. Stir in cocoa, powdered sugar, and cream. Spread on top of cooled brownies.
  10. Top with chocolate covered pretzels and M & M's.
