Ingredients

  • 1 cup pineapple juice
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 3 tablespoons water

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, whisk together pineapple juice, brown sugar, rice vinegar, ketchup, and soy sauce.
  2. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with water until smooth to make a slurry.
  3. Bring the sauce mixture to a boil over medium heat.
  4. Slowly whisk in the cornstarch slurry and continue cooking, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens, about 1-2 minutes.
  5. Adjust seasoning with more vinegar or sugar if needed. Remove from heat.
