  • 3 pounds fresh sweet potatoes
  • ¼ cup olive oil or canola oil

How to Make Sweet Potato Fries in Oven -
    Cup of Yum
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F. Set out a small bowl for the seasoning. Combine the salt, garlic powder, and black pepper. Stir well.
  2. Set out a large bowl. Peel the sweet potatoes, one at a time, and cut into ¼ to ½ inch fries that are 3-4 inches in length. Place the fries in the bowl, then pour the olive oil over the top of the fries. Toss the fries in oil.
  3. Repeat peeling the sweet potatoes, slicing them into fries, and tossing in the oil to keep them from browning.
  4. Once all the fries are cut and tossed in oil, spread them out in a single layer on two large rimmed baking sheets.
  5. Sprinkle the seasoning mix over the top of the fries. Bake for 12 minutes. Then carefully flip the fries over with a flat metal spatula. Bake for an additional 12 to 14 minutes until crispy. Serve the fries warm with your favorite dipping sauces.

Notes

  • Serve with ketchup of any of your favorite dipping sauces or dressings.
  • Leftovers: These fries taste best when served warm shortly after cooking. But leftovers will last in an airtight container in the fridge for a day or so.
  • The best way to reheat fries is in the air fryer. But you can also re-bake them in the oven for 5-10 minutes until hot and crispy again.
