Sweet & Salty Puppy Chow
Chex cereal, pretzels, mini peanut butter sandwich crackers are coated in a mixture of melted chocolate and peanut butter and covered in powdered sugar. This sweet and salty snack mix is perfect for parties, game day, or any day!
Ingredients
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup peanut butter creamy
- 1/4 cup butter salted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 cups rice chex cereal
- 1 1/2 cups pretzels regular or sticks
- 1 1/2 cups peanut butter sandwich crackers Trader Joe’s or Ritz, mini
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt flaky
- 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
Instructions
- Place the chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter in a large microwave safe bowl. Microwave on high for 1 minute. Remove the bowl from the microwave and stir. Put the bowl back into the microwave and heat for an additional 30 seconds or until mixture is smooth when stirred. Add the vanilla extract and stir again.
- Add the cereal, pretzels, peanut butter crackers, and se salt to the melted chocolate peanut butter mixture. Gently stir until the mixture is evenly coated.
- Pour the mixture into a large Ziploc bag. Add the powdered sugar. Seal the bag and shake until the puppy chow is well coated.
- Spread on parchment paper or waxed paper. Let sit until cool and chocolate is set.
Notes
- Store the puppy chow in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks. If it is warm in your kitchen, store the puppy chow in the refrigerator. You can also freeze the puppy chow for up to 3 months.
