Ingredients
- 1 pound elbow macaroni pasta
- 24 ounces evaporated milk
- 1 cup whole milk
- 3 eggs
- 8 ounces butter cut into small pieces
- 2 tablespoons sour cream
- 1/2 pound sharp cheddar cheese shredded
- 1/2 pound colby cheese shredded
- 1 pound Velveeta cheese cut into small chunks
- 1/2 pound Monterey jack cheese shredded
- Salt and white pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 cup shredded American cheese
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and prepare a 9×13-inch casserole dish.
- Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil and cook the pasta according to the package instructions. Drain and transfer the pasta to the prepared casserole dish.
- In a large bowl, mix the evaporated milk, whole milk, and eggs with a fork or whisk until thoroughly combined.
- Add the butter, sour cream, and all the cheeses aside from the American to the pasta.
- Pour the milk and egg mixture over the pasta. Season with salt, pepper, and sugar, and toss to combine.
- Sprinkle the top of the pasta with the remaining cup of American cheese. Bake for about 30 to 45 minutes or until the top is a light golden brown.
