Taco Bell Soft Taco

This recipe replicates Taco Bell-style soft tacos featuring seasoned ground beef made with a custom blend of spices including chili powder, cumin, and paprika. The beef cooks down to a flavorful filling with just enough moisture retained. Soft white tortillas are briefly warmed in a skillet to become pliable and ideal for folding. Typical toppings such as shredded lettuce, cheddar cheese, diced tomato, and optional sour cream complete the tacos.

  • 2 Roma tomato diced
  • ¾ cup sour cream optional

Instructions

Taco Seasoned Beef
    Cup of Yum
  1. Place all the ingredients except the meat in a small bowl.
  2. Stir the spices well to make sure the spices are blended well.
  3. Crumble the ground beef into a large skillet (preferably nonstick) over medium-high heat and brown the beef, stirring well.
  4. Transfer the browned beef to a colander to drain off the grease.
  5. Return the beef to the skillet.
  6. Add the spice mix and 3/4 to 1 cup water. Stir to combine.

  9. Place each tortilla in the skillet for about 30 seconds on each side to warm them up.
  10. Remove the tortilla from the skillet.
  11. Cover the tortillas with a towel to keep them warm.
Taco Assembly
  1. Spoon a couple tablespoons of beef on a tortilla.
  2. Top with lettuce, cheese, and diced tomato.
  3. Top with sour cream if desired.
  4. Repeat with the remaining ingredients.
  5. Serve immediately with your favorite taco sauce.
