Tamari Roasted Nuts (Savory!)

Easy-to-make roasted nuts with irresistibly savory flavors! A crowd-pleasing snack for parties, holiday spreads, charcuterie boards, or everyday enjoyment.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups nuts raw, unsalted
  • 2 Tbsp. tamari
  • 2 tsp. rice vinegar unseasoned
  • 1 tsp. pure maple syrup
  • 2 tsp. sesame seeds
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp. onion powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 250°F (130°C). Line a baking pan with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. In a medium bowl, add all ingredients except nuts. Stir to combine.
  3. Then add nuts and toss well to coat. Spread out nuts in a single, even layer on the lined baking pan. (I drizzle any remaining sauce over the top for full flavor.)
  4. Roast for 35-40 minutes stirring a couple times to prevent burning. (I roast for 15 minutes, stir, 15 minutes, stir, 10 minutes.)
  5. Remove from oven and cool completely before serving. They'll be soft and tender when they come out of the oven, but harden as they cool.

Notes

  • *Nuts: I use 2/3 cup each of walnuts, pecans, and almonds. (My favorites are walnuts and pecans, so sometimes I leave out the almonds.) But use any combination of walnuts, pecans, almonds, cashews, peanuts, etc.
  • Storing: Allow the nuts to cool completely, then store in an airtight container at room temperature for about 1-2 weeks.
