Teriyaki Turkey Meatballs

Flavorful, juicy, and easy to make, these Teriyaki Turkey Meatballs are the perfect weeknight meal, meal prep, or party appetizer. The meatballs are easily baked in the oven and then tossed in a homemade teriyaki sauce.

Ingredients

For the Meatballs:
  • 2 lbs ground turkey
  • 1½ tsp salt
  • 1½ tsp pepper
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1 large egg room temperature
  • ½ cup panko
  • ½ cup freshly grated parmesan
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
For the Teriyaki Sauce:
  • ⅔ cup soy sauce low sodium
  • ½ cup honey
  • ½ cup orange juice
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp mirin
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch

Instructions

For the Meatballs:

  1. Heat the oven to 375°F and line a sheet pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, egg, panko, parmesan, and olive oil.
  3. Using a spatula or hands, mix until just combined.
  4. Using a cookie scoop or a large spoon, scoop up 1½ tablespoons worth of mixture and gently roll it into a ball. Place on a lined sheet pan. Continue until you’ve rolled all of the ground turkey mixture.
  5. Bake for 18 to 20 minutes or until the meatballs have reached an internal temperature of 165°F/73°C.
For the Teriyaki Sauce:
  1. Add all the ingredients to a saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat then reduce the heat to medium and let it reduce for around 8 to 10 minutes until it’s thickened to your liking, stirring frequently.
For the Assembly:
  1. Once the meatballs are done, toss them in the teriyaki sauce. Feel free to garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.
