Texas Roadhouse Green Beans

Ingredients

  • 4 ounces Bacon
  • ½ cup chopped white onion
  • 3 15.5-ounce can green beans
  • 1 teaspoon ham base optional
  • 1½ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. Cut bacon into bite sized pieces.
  2. Heat a large heavy bottom pot over medium heat. Place bacon in the pot and cook stirring occassionally. Cook bacon until crisp. Remove bacon from pot, drain on a paper towel.
  3. Reduce heat to medium-low, saute onions stirring occasionally until they are translucent.
  4. Add green beans (liquid and beans) to the pot.
  5. If you have ham base, add 1 teaspoon of it to the pot.
  6. Add salt, ground black pepper, sugar, and two tablespoons of butter.
  7. Cook on medium-low until the beans are heated through.
