Thai Pork Meatballs
This recipe for Thai Pork Meatballs features savory tender ground pork flavored with aromatics, baked in the oven and dressed with an optional sweet chili sauce.
Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs ground pork
- 1 egg large
- 1 tablespoon fish sauce
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce light
- ¼ teaspoon salt sea salt
- 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger minced
- 2 green onions chopped
- ½ C cilantro chopped, optional
- ¼ C panko breadcrumbs
For serving:
- Thai sweet chili sauce
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F/218°C.
- In a bowl, combine the ground pork, egg, fish sauce, soy sauce, salt, sugar, garlic, ginger, green onions, cilantro (if using) and panko breadcrumbs.
- Give everything a good mix.
- Take a portion of the meat mixture and form it into a round meatball.
- Place the meatball onto a large baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Repeat with the remainder of the pork mixture.
- Bake the meatballs at 425°F/218°C for 20-25 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches a minimum of 160°F/71°C.
- Remove the pork meatballs from the oven.
- Add a squeeze of fresh lime juice (optional) and serve with steamed rice as is or with Thai sweet chili sauce (either drizzled over the meatballs, or as a dipping sauce).
