Thanksgiving Stuffing Topped Hummus

This Thanksgiving stuffing topped hummus takes all the flavors of traditional stuffing and places them right on top of hummus. It's so easy to make and full of flavor. Your whole family will love it!

Ingredients

  • 10 ounces plain hummus
  • 1/3 pound spicy Italian sausage removed from casing
  • 1 talk celery small dice
  • 1 small shallot small dice
  • 1/2 tart apple small dice
  • 1/4 cup dried cranberries roughly chopped
  • 1 teaspoon minced fresh sage
  • 1 teaspoon minced fresh rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Spread hummus out onto a platter leaving a space in the middle of the hummus to be topped, set aside. 
  2. In a 12-inch frying pan add sausage and set over medium-high heat. 
  3. Break up the sausage while cooking. When the sausage is almost done add in the celery, shallot, apple, dried cranberries, sage, rosemary, and thyme. 
  4. Continue cooking until the sausage is no longer pink and the vegetables have just started to soften. 
  5. Taste and season with kosher salt and black pepper. 
  6. Top the hummus with the warm sausage mixture. 
  7. Serve with toasted bread.
