The Best Steak Marinade
This steak marinade blends soy sauce, lemon juice, olive oil, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, Italian seasoning, black pepper, salt, and a hint of red pepper to enhance flavors and tenderize rib eye or New York strip steaks. The marinade is applied for at least two hours or overnight, then the steaks are pan-seared and finished with butter and fresh parsley, delivering a well-seasoned, juicy steak with a flavorful crust.
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 1/3 cup lemon juice
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon garlic peeled and minced
- 2 tablespoons Italian seasoning blend
- 1 teaspoon black pepper ground
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/8 teaspoon red pepper
- 3-4 steaks rib eye or New York strip are great choices
- 3 tablespoons butter divided
- parsley chopped, fresh
Instructions
- In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, lemon juice, olive oil, worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, pepper, salt, and red pepper.
- Place the steaks in a zip lock bag or large bowl and pour the marinade on top. Turn the steaks to ensure all sides are coated in the marinade.
- Marinate in the refrigerator for 2 hours or overnight.
Skillet Cooking Instructions
- Heat a large skillet or cast iron pan over medium-high heat. Add 1 tablespoon of butter then the place the steaks in the pan and cook on each side for 2-3 minutes or until outside is browned.
- Reduce heat to medium and cook the steaks to the desired doneness.
- Top each steak with a pat of butter and garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
