Tropical Smoothie Recipe

Take an island vacation in the comfort of your own home! This easy tropical smoothie recipe can be customized in so many ways to fit your palate and your nutritional needs. I like adding protein and spinach to get a big bang for my buck!

Ingredients

  • 1 banana frozen, large, ripe
  • 1 cup pineapple chunks
  • 1 cup Mango chunks
  • 4 strawberries optional, ripe
  • 1 cup orange juice
Optional Additions:
  • 1 spinach handful
  • 2 protein powder scoops
  • 1 to 2 Tbsp hemp seed or chia seeds

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Add all of the smoothie ingredients (pineapple, mango, banana, strawberries, orange juice, spinach, protein powder, etc) to a high-powered blender and blend until smooth.
  2. Taste the smoothie for flavor and texture. For colder, thicker smoothies, add 3 to 5 large ice cubes and blend until incorporated.
  3. You can add more orange juice (or milk of choice) for a thinner consistency.
  4. Pour smoothie into one large glass or two medium-sized glasses and enjoy!
  5. If you don’t finish the smoothie, store it in an airtight jar for up to 24 hours. Smoothies are best when consumed fresh, but if you don’t mind a little age, saving a smoothie is acceptable for later use.

Notes

  • *For lower sugar, use ½ cup of orange juice and ½ cup of milk such as oat milk, almond milk or coconut milk. You can also replace all of the orange juice with non-dairy milk but note the tropical flavor won’t be as pronounced.
