Turkey Burgers

Turkey Burgers are easy to make, juicy, and taste just as good as a hamburger. Made with classic burger fillings like lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey , not extra lean
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper coarse ground
  • 1/2 teaspoon thyme dried
  • 2 tablespoons butter optional (if cooking in pan only, unsalted
  • 1/2 red onion , thinly sliced
  • 4 lices cheddar cheese
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 4 large Hamburger Bun
  • 4 leaves lettuce
  • 4 lices tomato
  • 8 pickle chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat grill to medium-high setting.
  2. In a large bowl add the turkey, salt, pepper and thyme and form into 4 equal portions.
  3. Shape into patties larger than the buns (by 1 inch).
  4. Press down on the middle of the patty with your thumb to make an indentation.
  5. Add patties to the grill and cook for 3-5 minutes on each side.
  6. Top with cheddar cheese.
  7. Spread buns with mayonnaise and add to grill mayonnaise side down.
  8. Cook for 1 minute until browned.
  9. Remove bun bottoms and add bun tops, mayonnaise side down while you assemble burgers.
  10. Add pickles, turkey patty, onions, lettuce, tomato and finally the bun tops.
