Tzatziki Sauce

This homemade tzatziki sauce is fresh, flavorful, and so easy to make! You only need a handful of ingredients to make this creamy, versatile Greek sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups plain greek yogurt Full fat or reduced fat are recommended
  • 1 cup shredded cucumber
  • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill
  • 1/2 - 1 teaspoon grated garlic or 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

  1. Grate the cucumber on a box grater using the large holes. Use your hands to squeeze out as much of the liquid from the grated cucumber as you can.
  2. In a mixing bowl, add the grated cucumber, Greek yogurt, lemon juice, garlic, dill, salt and pepper. Stir everything together until combined and taste for seasoning. Transfer the tzatziki to a serving bowl and drizzle with olive oil if desired. Serve immediately or cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.

Notes

  • Tzatziki sauce will keep for up to 4 days in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Stir before each use.
