Ingredients

  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ tablespoon cornstarch
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 tablespoons butter salted
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • ½ teaspoon Sprinkles optional

  1. In a small bowl, combine flour, cornstarch, and baking powder.
  2. Add the butter to a large mug and microwave for 20 seconds or until melted.
  3. Stir the sugar, vanilla, and milk into the melted butter.
  4. Add the flour mixture and stir to form a batter. Gently mix in sprinkles if using.
  5. Place the mug in a microwave for 1 to 2 minutes or just until cooked through. It should be puffy but still shiny on the top. The cake will continue to cook as it rests. Rest for 2 to 3 minutes.

Notes

  • Use a 12-ounce or larger mug to allow room for the cake to rise during cooking.
  • Adjust microwave cooking time according to your microwave's wattage for optimal results; higher wattage requires shorter times.
  • Rest the cake for 2 to 3 minutes after microwaving to allow it to finish cooking and set.
