Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 1/2 cups milk whole
  • 1 tablespoon butter unsalted
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract pure

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the granulated sugar, cornstarch, and salt. Gradually whisk in the milk to ensure the mixture is smooth and free of lumps.
  2. Place the saucepan over medium heat and cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and begins to bubble, about 10-15 minutes.
  3. Remove the saucepan from heat. Stir in the unsalted butter and pure vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
  4. Pour the pudding into a serving bowl or individual dessert cups. To prevent a skin from forming on top, place a piece of plastic wrap directly on the surface of the pudding.
  5. Refrigerate the pudding until it is completely chilled and set, about 2 hours. Serve cold as a delightful dessert.
