Vietnamese Dipping Sauce (Nuoc Cham)
Nuoc Cham is a Vietnamese dipping sauce that is salty, sweet and sour. It's an all-purpose condiment made with fish sauce, lime juice, sugar, garlic and chilies. Serve it on rice vermicelli noodle (bun) bowls, and fresh spring rolls (goi cuon).
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoon water hot
- 2 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoon fish sauce I used Red Boat, high-quality
- 2 tablespoon water cool/room temperature
- ½ lime freshly squeezed
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 Thai chili minced, red
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine together hot water and sugar.
- Stir until the sugar dissolves.
- Add in fish sauce, cool/room temperature water and lime juice.
- Next, add in the garlic and Thai chili.
- Adjust seasoning to your taste.
