Watermelon Agua Fresca Recipe (Agua de Sandía)
This Watermelon Agua Fresca blends fresh watermelon with lime juice, water, and sugar, creating a refreshingly light drink with a balance of sweetness and citrus brightness. Straining removes most pulp for a smooth texture, while garnishing with sugared rims and fresh mint adds appeal. This chilled beverage suits warm days or whenever a clean, hydrating drink is desired.
Ingredients
- 4 cups watermelon fresh chunks in juice
- ½ cup water
- 2 tablespoons lime juice
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- lime wedges and leaves for garnish

Instructions
- Add the watermelon, water, lime juice, and sugar to a blender and blend on high speed until smooth. There will still be some very small pureed chunks.
- Next, strain the watermelon agua fresca through a strainer. You can use a chinois. thoroughly chill the agua fresca in the refrigerator before serving it.
- Dip a glass in lime juice and then sugar to make a sugared rim. You can also use salt.
- Chill the drink and then serve it in the sugared glass with a lime wedge and mint.

- The recipe can be prepared up to two days in advance for convenience.
- Store covered in the refrigerator for up to four days to maintain freshness.
- Freezing is possible for up to three months; thaw in the refrigerator prior to serving or enjoy as a frozen sorbet.
