Watermelon Frosé (Frozen Rosé)
Watermelon Frosé is a frozen cocktail made by blending frozen rosé wine with frozen watermelon chunks, honey, and fresh mint. The rosé wine is partially frozen to a slushy state due to its alcohol content, then combined with sweet watermelon and mint for a refreshing and lightly sweet beverage. This slushy drink offers a cool, fruity texture ideal for warm weather sipping.
Ingredients
- 750 ml rosé wine
- 3 cups watermelon seedless, cut into 1-inch cubes, chunks
- 2-3 Tbsp. honey to taste
- 2 Tbsp. mint stems removed, sweet
Instructions
- Pour the rosé wine into a freezer-safe container. Cover with a lid and freeze for at least 4 hours or up to overnight. (Due to the alcohol content, the rosé wine will not freeze completely but instead will have a slushy consistency once fully frozen.)
- Cut watermelon into 1-inch chunks and place in a single layer on a baking sheet or in a plastic container. Cover with a piece of plastic wrap and freeze for at least 4 hours or up to overnight.
- Add frozen wine and melon to a large blender along with the honey and mint.
- Blend on medium-high speed for 1-2 minutes or until smooth.
- Serve immediately or freeze until ready to serve.
Notes
- Freeze rosé wine and watermelon chunks for at least 4 hours or overnight before blending.
- Optionally, freeze the fully blended drink and remove from the freezer 30 minutes before serving to soften slightly.
- Adjust honey to taste for preferred sweetness levels.
