Whipped Cream Cheese Frosting

The best cream cheese frosting ever, this Whipped Cream Cheese Frosting adds a lightness to your typical cream cheese frosting. This cupcake frosting is luxurious and smooth and completely irresistible!

Ingredients

  • 1 (8-oz) package cream cheese softened
  • 2/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • chocolate for grating

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth.  Add the brown sugar and the vanilla and beat until completely smooth.
  2. In another bowl, beat the cream until stiff peaks form.  Take about 1/4 of the cream and stir it into the cream cheese mixture to lighten it up.  Add the remaining cream and fold in until completely combined.
  3. For cupcakes, transfer the frosting to a piping bag and pipe the frosting on the cupcakes as desired.  Grate chocolate over the top, if desired.

Notes

  • This recipe makes enough to frost 24 cupcakes.
