Whipped Ricotta (Sweet and Savory Options)

Ingredients

  • 15 ounce whole milk ricotta cheese
  • 3 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • Pinch of salt
  • optional toppings honey, crushed red pepper flakes, fresh chopped herbs like garlic, rosemary, thyme, or mint, mini chocolate chips, or fresh berries

Instructions

  1. Set out a mixing bowl and a hand mixer. Measure the ricotta cheese, heavy cream, lemon zest, and a pinch of salt into the bowl.
  2. Whip on high speed until the mixture is very smooth and thick. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.
  3. When you're ready to enjoy, scoop the whipped ricotta into a serving bowl. Then sprinkle anything you like over the top as a garnish.

Notes

  • Transfer leftover ricotta to an airtight container and keep in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.
