Delicious copycat White Castle Sliders recipe made with small beef patties, diced onion, melty cheese and all your favorite condiments and toppings.

Servings: 12 servings
Course: Main Course
Cuisine: American

Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground beef 80-90%
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 medium white onion diced
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon oil
  • 1 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 12 slider buns
  • 6 lices American cheese cut in half
  • 24 Dill pickle chips

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Dice the onion into small, minced bits (1/4"-1/2")
  2. In a medium size saucepan, add the oil and turn to medium heat. Add the prepared diced onion and saute until fragrant and soft (about 3 minutes). Add the water and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a boil, and them simmer for 8 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
  3. Place the beef on a sheet of parchment paper, flatten the beef with a rolling pin or with your hands shaped into a 1/4" thick rectangle. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Preheat the oven to 350°F
  5. With a sharp knife or pizza cutter, cut the beef into 12 patties.
  6. Using a metal straw or wooden spoon handle, perforate vent holes into each patty. This allows the burgers to be steamed similar to White Castle sliders
  7. On a baking sheet large enough for the ground beef, add the onions and juices from the cooked onions, spreading them out evenly across the entire sheet. Place the patties on top of the onions.
  8. Place the baking sheet into the pre heated oven, and cover with a larger baking sheet that’s turned upside down to steam the burgers. Alternatively, you can cover the burgers with a large sheet of foil.
  9. Bake for 10 minutes.
  10. When the burgers are done assemble the sliders with a bottom bun, then a burger patty. Top with a slice of cheese, 2 pickles, ketchup, and or mayonnaise.
