White Sangria
White Sangria combines fresh fruits like strawberries, mango, peach, green apple, lime, and orange with white wine, triple sec, and seltzer water to create a chilled, fruity cocktail. The fruit maceration deepens flavors before mixing with wine and carbonation, producing a refreshing drink with a balance of sweetness and citrus notes. It serves well in social gatherings and warm weather.
Ingredients
- 1 cup strawberries sliced
- 1 Mango peeled, seed removed and diced
- 1 peach pitted and sliced
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup triple sec (see note 1)
- 1 green apple cored and sliced (see note 2)
- 1 lime sliced
- 1 orange sliced
- 1 bottle white wine such as Sauvignon Blanc, or Prosecco, chilled, dry
- 1 cup seltzer water see note 3
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine strawberries, mango, peach, sugar, and triple sec. Cover with plastic wrap, refrigerate for 1 hour.
- In a large pitcher, add the apple, orange, lime, and refrigerated fruit mixture. Add the wine and seltzer, and stir to combine. Serve over ice with the fruit.
Notes
- Triple sec can be substituted with other orange liqueurs like Cointreau or Grand Marnier for similar citrus notes.
- While green apples add tartness, any apple variety can be used according to taste.
- Replace seltzer with tonic water for bitterness or lemon-lime soda for sweeter sangria.
- This recipe makes about 12 one-cup servings including fruit.
- Prepare the sangria without seltzer up to 3 days ahead; add seltzer just before serving to maintain carbonation.
- Store leftovers in a sealed jar or pitcher in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
