White Wine Summer Sangria Spritzer
This White Wine Summer Sangria Spritzer blends dry Sauvignon Blanc with chopped peaches and cherries, macerated briefly in vodka, then topped with lemon-lime soda for a light, refreshing fruit-flavored cocktail. The chilled fruit and soda add a gentle sweetness and fizz, while fresh cherries garnish the glass to enhance the presentation and add subtle tartness. It’s a refreshing drink well-suited for warm weather.
Ingredients
- 1 bottle white wine cold (I used Sauvignon Blanc, dry
- 2 medium peaches organic, peeled
- ½ cup Cherry pitted, cut into pieces
- 4 oz vodka or lemon flavored vodka, Citroen
- 12 oz lemon-lime soda natural, cold (or soda water for less sugar/sweetness)
- 6 Cherry fresh, whole cherries, with stems
Instructions
- Cut the peaches into nibble sized pieces, place in a bowl and add the chopped cherries. Pour enough white wine over into the bowl to cover the fruit.
- Add the vodka, cover and refrigerate for one to two hours.
- In a sangria jug, place the macerated fruit, the remaining white wine, and the lemon lime soda. Stir gently (the cherries will give the sangria/spritzer a lovely pink tint).
- Pour into glasses and adorn the rim of each glass with a cherry (cut a slit in the bottom of each cherry and push onto the rim of the glass).
Notes
- Customize this cocktail by using your favorite seasonal fruits for maceration.
- Refrigerate the mixture long enough to let the fruit flavors infuse the wine and vodka, typically 1–2 hours.
- Use lemon-lime soda for sweetness and fizz or substitute with soda water for a less sweet version.
- Chill all ingredients before mixing to maintain a crisp, refreshing drink.
