Wonton Pizza Cups

Wonton Pizza Cups transform crisp wonton wrappers into mini pizza crusts filled with a savory blend of pizza sauce, mozzarella, and pepperoni or your choice of toppings. These bite-sized cups combine a crispy texture with melty cheese and flavorful sauce, making them a creative hand-held pizza alternative. Baking in a muffin tin ensures each cup holds its shape while crisping evenly. This recipe is useful for quick appetizers, snack servings, or a fun twist on pizza using simple pantry ingredients.

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Pre-heat oven to 365° and spray a 6-cup muffin tin with nonstick spray or use a pasty brush to brush the cups lightly with oil.
  2.  Layer two wonton wrappers per cup, rotating the second wonton square so each cup looks like a star and covers the whole muffin cup.
  3. Bake for 5 minutes.
  4. Remove crisped wontons from oven and divide pizza sauce between all 6 cups, spooning a little into the bottom of each wonton cup. Sprinkle with italian seasoning blend.
  5. Top each cup with grated mozzarella and pepperoni (or choice of toppings from the list above) and bake for an additonal 10-15 minutes or until the sauce is hot and the cheese is melty.
  6. Add any additional toppings or garnsh your heart desires and dive in while they're hot!

Notes

  • Use nonstick spray or brush oil lightly on the muffin tin cups to prevent wonton wrappers from sticking.
  • Feel free to experiment with different toppings such as mushrooms, bell peppers, olives, or ham to suit your taste.
  • Pre-baking the wonton wrappers before adding sauce prevents them from becoming soggy.
  • Serve the Wonton Pizza Cups warm shortly after baking for best texture and flavor.
  • The nutritional estimates provided cover the base recipe; adjust as needed according to your chosen toppings.
