World's Best Falafel Recipe
Falafel is a round bite sized mixture of garbanzo beans, seasonings and a hint of spice from a jalapeño all cooked and ready to add to any wrap or salad. A healthy little bite!
Ingredients
- 1 (15-ounce) garbanzo beans drained and dried, canned
- 2 cups parsley
- 1 cup cilantro
- ¼ cup onion chopped
- ½ tablespoon garlic
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ jalapeno pepper seeded and diced
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ¼ cup flour
Instructions
- In a food processor, combine 1 (15-ounce) can garbanzo beans, 2 cups parsley, 1 cup cilantro, ¼ cup chopped onion, ½ tablespoon garlic, 1 teaspoon cumin, 1 teaspoon salt, ¼ teaspoon pepper, ½ seeded and diced jalapeno, and 1 teaspoon baking soda. Pulse until smooth for about 1 minute.
- Add the mixture to a medium-sized bowl and stir in ¼ cup flour. Scoop out about 2 tablespoons and shape into small patties.
- Heat a medium skillet to medium high and add the patties. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
