Ingredients

  • ¼ cup butter or olive oil
  • 2 cups basmati rice
  • 3 cups water
  • 2 teaspoons chicken bouillon paste or powder
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt adjust to taste
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Turmeric ground
  • cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat the butter or oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Pour the rice into the pan then stir to coat the rice well with the melted butter. Cook and stir for about 2 minutes.
  3. Add the water, chicken bouillon, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and turmeric. Stir until combined and bring to a boil.
  4. Reduce the heat to a simmer and cover the pot with a lid.
  5. Allow the rice to simmer for about 12-15 minutes until the rice is fully cooked and plump.
  6. Fluff with a fork, transfer the rice to a bowl and serve.
