Žganci

Žganci is a traditional Croatian and Slovenian dish made of corn flour, water, salt, and butter, and served with dairy ingredients or meat.

Ingredients

  • 1½ lbs corn flour (maize flour)
  • 1½ quarts water
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • pinch salt
To serve
  • 6 oz yogurt (or cream)

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Place the water into a large pan, add a pinch of salt, and bring to a boil.
  2. When the water boils, reduce the heat, and add the corn flour.
  3. Stir for around 10 minutes, until the mixture is very thick.
  4. Remove from the heat, and serve warm with yogurt or cream.
