10 Minute Sauteed Sugar Snap Peas

Ingredients

  • 1 lb sugar snap peas
  • 1 tablespoon good olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons seasoned rice vinegar
  • 3/4 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds toasted optional

  1. Prep: Trim the ends off of the sugar snap peas.
  2. Cook: Heat olive oil in a 12 inch or larger skillet over medium heat. Add sugar snap peas and stir to coat the peas in the olive oil.
  3. Season: Add seasoned rice wine vinegar to the pan and stir to coat. Add salt, pepper, and garlic powder and stir to combine. Saute for 3-5 minutes until the sugar snap peas are tender.
  4. Serve: Finish with sesame seeds and serve!

  • Olive Oil: This is when you break out the good stuff. Or, you can use sesame oil instead to add even more sesame flavor!
  • Garlic Powder:  You can use fresh garlic minced (1 - 2 teaspoons) in place of garlic powder, but just be sure to ensure that it does not burn, which it can do quickly. 
  • Seasoned Rice Wine Vinegar: The acidity and sweetness adds to this side. You can also use Mirin.
