Ingredients

  • 1 cup white rice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1.5 cups water

Instructions

  1. Pour 1-1/2 cups of water into a medium saucepan. Place it over high heat to bring the water to a boil.
  2. Once the water is boiling, reduce the heat to medium high.
  3. Stir in the white rice and salt and return to a boil.
  4. Reduce heat to low so it will simmer. Cover and cook for about 16 to 18 minutes until rice is tender and has absorbed all the water.
  5. After it has finished cooking, remove the pan from the heat and let sit, covered, for about 10 minutes. Then fluff with a fork and serve.
