Agua de Jamaica (Hibiscus Tea) Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup dried hibiscus flowers
  • 4 cups water
  • 1/3 cup honey or sugar
  • 1 lime sliced or cut into wedges

Instructions

  1. Bring 4 cups of water to a boil, add the hibiscus flowers, and turn off the heat. Let steep for 30 minutes, then strain out the flowers. Stir in the honey until dissolved. Chill.
  2. Serve over ice with a fresh squeeze of lime juice.

Notes

  • To store Agua de Jamaica (Hibiscus Tea), keep it in an airtight container or a pitcher covered with plastic wrap in the refrigerator. It stays fresh for up to 5 days.
  • To freeze, place the tea in ice cube trays for up to 2 months.
