Air Fryer Baked Potatoes

Ingredients

  • 4 baking potatoes
  • 3 tbsp olive oil or avocado oil
  • 1 tsp sea salt flakes
  • 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
To serve
  • salted butter
  • salt and pepper to taste

  1. Give the potatoes a good scrub under cold water then dry well with a paper towel.
  2. Pierce the skin all over with a fork or sharp knife. This allows steam to escape the potato during the cooking process.
  3. Drizzle the potatoes with the oil and sprinkle with the salt and pepper, turning to cover,
  4. Pre-heat your air fryer to 400°F/200°C. Once preheated, spray the basket with oil and then place the potatoes in the air fryer basket. Air fry them for 45-50 minutes, flipping them at the halfway point.
  5. Be sure to check the potatoes are baked by piercing the crisp skin with a sharp knife - there should be no resistance. If the middle feels a bit hard, add a few minutes to the cooking time and check again.
  6. Slice the potatoes in half lengthwise and fluff the interior with a fork. Add a little butter to each potato, plus salt and pepper to taste. Serve as they are or with your favorite toppings.
