Ingredients
- 2 eggs
- 2 English muffins
- 2 sausage patties
- 2 slices cheese
- 2 tablespoons butter
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Split the English muffins and spread butter on each side.
- Spray two 4-inch metal pans with cooking spray. Break an egg into each and sprinkle it with salt and pepper.
- Add a pan with the egg, split English muffin, and sausage patty to the air fryer basket. Cook at 370 degrees F for 4 minutes.
- Pull out the basket and flip the sausage patties over. Flip the egg in the pan unless you like runny yolks. Add the cheese to half of the English muffin.
- Air fry for another 2-3 minutes until the egg cooks and the cheese melts.
- Add the egg and sausage patty to the English muffin and serve.
Cup of Yum
Notes
- Spray those metal egg pans generously! Stuck-on eggs are no fun to clean.
- Metal pans work better than silicone pans or ramekins. Metal is better at conducting heat, so the eggs cook faster and more evenly.
- If you like your yolks runny (my husband's preference), skip flipping the egg at the halfway point.
- If your air fryer basket is large enough, you can cook multiple sandwiches at once.
- Bagels, croissants, or regular bread all work great as substitutes for the English muffin.
- Any slice of cheese works great. Just avoid shredded cheese, as it tends to fly around in the air fryer.
