Air Fryer Chickpeas (No Oil)
Air Fryer Chickpeas seasoned with a mix of garlic, onion, cumin, chili powder, cinnamon, and salt create a crisp, flavorful snack without oil. Cooking at 350°F crisps the chickpeas well, thanks to repeated shaking during a 15-20 minute cook. The texture is crunchy and golden, suitable for eating alone or adding to salads for extra texture and spice.
Ingredients
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1/4 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 can chickpeas 400g (14.5oz) drained, rinsed, and patted dry, drained
Instructions
- Preheat to 350F (180C)
- Mix together all the spices, and add to a bowl along with the chickpeas. Toss well to combine.
- Add all the chickpeas to the air fryer basket. Cook for 15-20 minutes in the air fryer, shaking every 5 minutes until crispy and golden brown.
- Store at room temperature 4-5 days (not in an airtight container).
Notes
- Oven roast at 400°F for 25-30 minutes with stirring every 10 minutes as an alternative to air frying.
- Experiment with various seasoning blends like curry powder, zaatar, ranch powder, or nutritional yeast for different flavors.
- Add parmesan powder after cooking to avoid burning and achieve a cheesy taste.
- Store leftovers uncovered or with air flow at room temperature to keep chickpeas crispy for up to 5 days.
