Air Fryer Curry Chicken Recipe
This Air Fryer Curry Chicken recipe features chicken cubes marinated with curry powder, garlic, ginger, and olive oil, then cooked in the air fryer for a crisp exterior and tender inside. A creamy sauce made from heavy cream and a cornstarch slurry is added at the end for a saucy finish, enhanced with fresh cilantro garnish for brightness.
Ingredients
- 2 Tbsp olive oil
- 1 cup yellow onion diced
- 1 1/2 Tablespoons garlic minced, cloves
- 5 teaspoons curry powder
- 1 teaspoon ginger powder
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 lbs chicken breast diced into 1-inch cubes
- 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tsp water
- 1/3 cup heavy cream
- cilantro chopped, for garnish
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, add the chicken, onion, and garlic. Add the oil and spices and mix together ensuring all the chicken is seasoned. Marinade for 30 minutes.
- Place curry into a pan that fits in the air fryer basket.
- Set the air fryer to 400°F and cook for 15 minutes.
- Remove cooked chicken and juices to a heat proof mixing bowl. Add cream and cornstarch slurry. Mix.
- Place back in the pan and place in the air fryer basket. Cook at 400°F for 7 additional minutes.
- Remove from air fryer and serve topped with chopped cilantro.
Notes
- Add 1/2 to 1 teaspoon cayenne powder for more heat.
- Boneless, skinless chicken thighs can be used instead of breast for a different texture.
- Consider making your own curry powder blend for customized flavor.
- Serve alongside jasmine, basmati rice, naan, or cauliflower rice for a complete meal.
