Ingredients

  • 1 bunch kale
  • salt to taste
  • 1 spritz oil or calorie-controlled cooking spray (optional)

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Preheat your air fryer to 375F / 190C.
  2. Wash, dry and tear the kale.
  3. Add the kale to the air fryer basket, filling about halfway.
  4. Spritz with oil and sprinkle with salt.
  5. Air fry in batches for 4-6 minutes, shaking a couple of times during cooking.
  6. Kale chips can burn quickly, so it's important to check it frequently, beginning at the 3-minute mark.

Notes

  • Thoroughly wash and dry the kale before proceeding with the recipe.
  • For a more even coating of the seasoning, toss the kale with the oil and salt to coat well before adding it to the air fryer basket.
  • Don’t crowd the basket with too much kale or it will crisp unevenly.
  • Cover the kale with an extra air fryer rack to prevent it from flying around inside the air fryer.
  • To re-crisp leftover kale chips, reheat them in the air fryer for 1-2 minutes.
  • Storage - keep at room temperature in a brown paper bag or loosely sealed zip-top bag for 5-7 days.
  • If you skip the oil or use a calorie-controlled cooking spray, there are 0 Blue Plan SmartPoints in one serving of this.
