Air Fryer Mushrooms

Flavorful air fried mushrooms are a diet-friendly, versatile side dish.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound (450g) mushrooms
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 ½ teaspoons balsamic vinegar optional
  • ⅓ teaspoon white pepper
  • ⅓ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ⅓ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • onion salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 390 degrees F / 200 degrees C.
  2. Clean the mushrooms then cut into bite sized pieces.
  3. Combine the olive oil, dry seasonings and balsamic vinegar (if desired) in a bowl.
  4. Add the mushrooms to the seasoning and mix until well coated.
  5. Spread the mushrooms in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook for 10-13 minutes, shaking several times during cooking until the mushrooms are tender and golden.
  6. Serve hot or warm. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

  • Wipe the mushrooms with a damp paper towel to remove any dirt. 
  • Quarter or half the mushrooms into bite-sized pieces. 
  • You do not need to remove the mushroom stems.
  • Not a fan of onion salt? Use kosher salt to taste instead. 
  • Balsamic vinegar is optional but adds to the rich, earthy, umami flavor. 
  • Preheat the air fryer for the best results. 
  • Cook the mushrooms in a single layer. You may need to cook in batches.
  • Give the mushrooms a shake every few minutes, so they cook evenly. 
  • Serve hot or warm. Garnish with fresh herbs for presentation.
