Air-Fryer Onions deliver caramelized, tender onions with some crispy edges by cooking thinly sliced onions tossed in oil and herbs at 375°F. The air fryer promotes even browning without overcrowding. Seasoned simply with salt, pepper, and herbs, these onions make a versatile topping or side with a rich caramelized flavor and slight sweetness.
Ingredients
- 1 yellow onion large
- 1 tablespoon avocado oil or extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon of your preferred herb blend like Italian seasoning or Herbes de Provence

Instructions
- Slice the onion into thin strips. Note that the onions will reduce in size as they cook. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F.
- In a mixing bowl, toss the sliced onions with the oil, your seasoning of choice, and a pinch of salt and pepper if you choose. Mix well to coat the onions evenly.
- Arrange the seasoned onions in a single layer in the air-fryer basket or tray. Take care not to overcrowd the onions to allow for even cooking.

- Remove onions from the air fryer once they have reached a caramelized state with some crispy edges.
