Air Fryer Pita Chips Recipe

Whip up a batch of homemade air fryer pita chips for a delicious and healthy snack. Perfectly crispy and great with dips.

Ingredients

  • 4 pita bread any type, thick thin, or pita pockets
  • olive oil extra virgin
  • Spices kosher salt, sea salt, garlic powder, or za'atar spice, everything bagel seasoning

Instructions

  1. Lightly coat each side of the pita bread with extra virgin olive oil using a pastry brush or a light coat of cooking oil spray.
  2. Cut the pita in half, fourths, and then eighth into triangles.
  3. Place the sliced pita in a mixing bowl and season with spices. Gently fold so both side are coated with the spices.
  4. Place the pita on the bottom of the air fryer basket in a single layer. Some overlap is ok. Turn the heat to 380° F and air fry for 5-10 minutes or until crispy and light brown.
  5. Remove the chips from the basket to cool. Repeat until all the pita is air fried.
Oven Baked Pita Chips

  1. Follow steps 1-3 above. Place seasoned cut pita in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake at 425°F for 4-9 minutes, depending on the thickness of the pita.

Notes

  • The time it takes to air fry is determined by the thickness of the pita bread.  Thin slices will take 5 minutes and thicker pita bread will take 5-10 minutes. Make sure that place your pita chips in a single layer in the air fryer basket so that the hot air can move freely to heat the tortilla chips. A slight overlap is ok. Depending on the model of your air fryer, you may need to flip the pita to ensure both sides get crispy.
