Air Fryer Veggie Burgers
These Air Fryer Veggie Burgers use mashed white beans combined with oats, fresh herbs, diced onion and bell pepper, and spices including Italian seasoning, cumin, smoked paprika, and garlic powder. The mixture is shaped into patties and cooked in the air fryer until golden and firm. They provide a hearty, flavorful vegetarian option with a tender yet sturdy texture suitable for sandwiching in buns with toppings.
Ingredients
- 14 oz white bean rinsed and drained ( I used cannellini beans, 400 g
- 2/3 cup oats 65g
- 1/4 cup Coriander finely chopped, aka cilantro, fresh, 15 g
- 1/2 onion grated or very finely diced, small
- 1/2 bell pepper preferably grated or very finely diced, deseeded
- lemon juice of 1
- 3 Tablespoon Sriracha sauce or tomato sauce
- 1 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning or oregano
- 1 teaspoon cumin ground
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- salt sea salt, to taste
Instructions
- Mash the beans in a mixing bowl.
- Add in oats, cilantro, onion, bell pepper, lemon juice, sriracha sauce (or tomato sauce), herbs and spices and mix together.
- Divide and shape into 4 patties.
- Preheat Air Fryer to 350F/180C. Place patties in the basket, spray with olive oil or cooking spray and cook for 9-10 minutes flipping halfway through.
- Create burgers with buns, patties and then desired toppings.

- Create burger patties following steps 1-3 from Air Fryer instructions.
- Heat a pan with 1 Tablespoon oil on medium heat.
- Cook patties until golden brown, turning half way through.
Notes
- Shape patties to fit your air fryer basket for even cooking.
- Refrigerate the bean mixture for 20-30 minutes before forming patties to improve firmness.
- When cooking from frozen, add a few extra minutes to the cook time.
- Thicker patties may need longer cooking to achieve a golden crust.
- Serve with preferred burger toppings such as lettuce, tomato, and sauce.
