All-Natural Pandan French Toast

An Asian spin on French Toast with a pandan-infused custard.

Ingredients

  • 4 slices thick-cut bread day old is best
  • 2 large eggs
  • ⅓ C whole milk or non-dairy milk
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon Suncore Emerald Pandan Leaf Supercolor Powder
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, lightly whisk together egg, and milk. Add in sugar, vanilla extract and pandan powder. Whisk until everything is combined.
  2. Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture and repeat with both sides. Press firmly on the bread to ensure it soaks up the mixture.
  3. Heat a frying pan over low heat. Lightly grease with butter.
  4. Place the coated bread into the frying pan and cook over low heat for 4-5 minutes. Cover with a lid. Remove the lid and flip the bread. Cover and cook for another 1-2 minutes.
  5. Repeat with the remaining bread.
