Almond Flour Waffles
Almond Flour Waffles use almond flour and almond milk to create tender, golden waffles with a subtle nutty flavor. The batter is flavored with vanilla, cinnamon, and sweetened with maple syrup. Cooking in a waffle iron yields a crispy exterior and soft interior. These waffles are perfect topped with fresh fruit, syrup, or nut butter.
Ingredients
- 3 large egg at room temp
- ½ cup almond milk or other non-dairy milk
- 1 Tablespoon maple syrup optional
- 2 Tablespoon coconut or avocado oil, melted
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups almond flour fine, blanched
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon salt sea salt
- cooking spray for the waffle iron
- maple syrup fresh berries, nut butter, bananas, etc, for topping
Instructions
- Preheat waffle iron to medium-high heat and spray with cooking spray.
- Whisk together wet ingredients in a medium mixing bowl.
- Add dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
- Pour ½ cup of the mixture into preheated waffle iron, close and cook for about 3-4 minutes, until golden brown.
- Remove from waffle iron, plate and top with maple syrup, nut butter and fresh berries for serving.
